Ogun Gov., Ibikunle Amosun Panics Over Mass Defection To Labour Party
***Woos Akinlade Loyalists With Political Appointments

The governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun is apprehensive and desperate over his chances of getting another opportunity to be re-elected  the governor of Ogun State come 2015.

The apprehension of the governor stems from the mass defection of his party members to other parties in the state.

It would be recalled that www.yemojanews.com broke the story that a leading light of the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, a member of the House of Representatives has moved large members of the ACN in Ogun State to the Labor Party (LP).

Akinlade is expected to run against Senator Ibikunle Amosun for the governorship seat of the State in 2015.

With Hon. Akinlade’s growing popularity in the state, and political big wigs lining behind him, Gov. Amosun, who is losing popularity  by the day, www.yemojanews.com learnt has adopted a strategy to win back some of his erstwhile party members.

“In the next few days, Gov. Amosun will announce about 100 political appointments in the state. The appointments will be given to politicians loyal to Hon. Akinlade. It is expected that the appointments will lure  the Akinlade loyalists back to ACN and gov.  It is just a ploy to weaken Akinlade’s  political structure and supporters.” An ACN chieftain in Abeokuta told www.yemojanews.com  in confidence.

However, the source further reveals that the appointment for the Akinlade group is nothing but “greek gift”.

“The idea is to give them the appointment and sack them later, probably after the election. Those that will be given appointment will also be made useless, because they won’t wield any influence. Amosun will later kick them out after using them for the 2015 election”. The source added.

Meanwhile, investigation revealed that the Hon. Abiodun Akinlade’s camp has sent emissaries to Gov. Amosun that they don’t want any of his appointments.
