Ademola Fashola, the father of the Lagos State governor, is to be buried at a Vaults and Gardens tomb in Lagos, yemojanews has learnt.
The remains of Mr. Fashola, 79, who died on Monday after a brief illness, will be interred at the private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos.
There are claims that relatives sometimes spend as much as N100 million or more to bury their loved ones at the cemetry’s tombs.
Staff at the cemetery suggested the governor’s father could be buried in one of the expensive tombs but we are unable to independently verified that at this time.
There is heavy security presence around the cemetery, with armed police officers barring people, including journalists, from entering the cemetery.
The deceased’s corpse is yet to arrive at the cemetery as at 2:10 p.m. and family members and friends continue to wait.
The burial rites of Ademola Fashola was conducted inside a fenced tomb at Vaults and Gardens, a private cemetery in Lagos.
