COZA Pastor Opens Up On Sex AllegationsSays ‘God ‘ll fight for me’

Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo, General Overseer of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) today opened up an alleged sexual relationship with a former parishioner, Ms. Ese Walter.

Fatoyinbo told a crowded congregation at the THISDAY dome, Abuja, venue of his church, that as a man of God, such challenges are to be expected.

He, however ruled out seeking redress in court, saying “you don’t deal with things the normal way when you know the word of God.”

The pastor likened his current travails to that suffered by the biblical Joseph. Without the challenges Joseph faced in the land of Egypt, held the pastor, his (Joseph’s) life would not have been catapulted to the position of prime minister.

“God’s perception of life is different. He is not limited like man. He does not do things the way a man would…God’s ways are unsearchable,” he declared.

In a sermon entitled “For your good”, Pastor Biodun, as he is also called, told the congregation that certain events in life often turn around for one’s good.

He charged his flock not to be discouraged when the devil attacks them. “There is a reason for every attack of the devil in your life,” he submitted.

Quoting copiously from the books of Genesis and Romans, the Reverend urged them to embrace God.

Looking unruffled, Fatoyinbo was decked in a navy blue suit and tie. His wife, Modele, who equally appeared calm, was dressed in a cream skirt suit.

He drove himself to church in a beige Land Rover 4 SUV with a customised license place PB.

After the day’s service, Fatoyinbo drew the attention of his flock to reports about him in the media. He said it was the price to pay as a man of God who “was going somewhere.”

The pastor reiterated his love for his wife, who promptly embraced him. Other visiting pastors and their wives also hugged Fatoyinbo.

Father of three, Fatoyinbo, a graduate of University of Benin, began his ministry in Ilorin, Kwara State. COZA currently has three branches in Abuja, Lagos and Ilorin.

Ms. Walter had mid last week claimed in her blog that she had an intimate relationship with Pastor Biodun, triggering an avalanche of reactions by Nigerians all over the world.
