Crisis Hit Ogun ACN As Hon. Akinlade and other Bigwigs Defect to Labour Party

Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the ruling party in Ogun State, South West Nigeria is in tatters now, www.yemojanews.com can authoritatively confirm.According to our investigation, one of the main power houses of the party in the State, Hon Abiodun Akinlade has moved all his political machines to another party, the Labour Party.
Hon. Akinlade who represents Egbado South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives and currently House Committee Chairman on Science and Technology is in his third term in the National Assembly.
www.yemojanews.com gathered that Akinlade made the move in order to contest for the 2015 governorship election against incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Sources informed  www.yemojanews.com that Akinlade who was one of the top politicians that defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ACN before the 2011 general elections was actually the favourite of all the party big wigs to carry the flag of the ACN for the 2011 election.

‘’Gov. Ibikunle Amosun was in All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) while Akinlade had moved to the ACN. He had been penciled down as the guber candidate of the ACN before Senator Ibikunle Amosun later joined ACN.
‘’It was Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that pleaded with Akinlade to step down and paved way for Amosun to carry the party’s flag on the strength that Amosun had contested for the guber seat of the state in the 2007 general election and had considerable followership. That was how Amosun emerged and won the election’’. Our source explained.
www.yemojanews.com was also told that as soon Amosun won the 2011 election, he practically declared war on all the politicians he met in the ACN except those that are ready to ‘lick his feet’, demolishing all the original party structures  and replacing them with his loyalists from the ANPP.
Because of this, and many more, especially the marginalization of the Ogun West Senatorial District in on going projects and political appointments, Hon. Akinlade who is popularly known for championing the cause of the Ogun West people decided to dump the ACN to contest the 2015 guber election under the Labour Party.
‘’I can tell you that with the defection of Hon. Akinlade and his followers from ACN to Labour Party, the ACN in Ogun State is like a carcass.” A political observer said.
Meanwhile, the official defection of Hon. Abiodun Akinlade which will be made public in a matter of weeks will see some members of ACN in the Ogun State House of Assembly defecting to Labour.
“Hon. Akinlade controls sizeable amount of members of the House of Assembly, and they are ready to following him to Labour Party’’, the source revealed.
Interestingly, www.yemojanews.com further gathered that the former governor of Ogun State who is seen as the leader and back bone of ACN, Aremo Olusegun Osoba has given Akinlade the blessing to move to Labour Party. It is on record that Gov. Amosun has sidelined Aremo Osoba in the scheme of things in Ogun State since he became the governor.
We also learnt that the Ondo State governor , Olusegun  Mimiko who is the only Labour Party governor in the country has welcomed Akinlade with open arms and promised to give necessary support to kick out the government of Amosun in 2015
