Brutal Beatings Of Journalists And Ogun State Officials - Oyedepo In Fresh Storm Of Controversy

At about 8:15pm on 8 September, Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, alias Winners’ Chapel, was in Abeokuta to meet with Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State. The meeting was facilitated by former president Olusegun Obasanjo, whom Oyedepo contacted to reach out to Amosun. The governor was said to be seething over the latest controversy involving Oyedepo and his church.
Two days earlier, some members of the church assaulted a team of  officials of the Ogun State Ministry Of Urban and Physical Planning, who had gone to the church’s headquarters in Ota to serve building inspection notices, as well as two journalists attached to Ogun State Television.

Cool FM, Beat FM Set to Float TV Stations

Urban radio stations, Cool FM and Beat FM are spreading their tentacles into television as they float TV stations in the coming months.
According to NET investigations, Globe Broadcasting and Communications Limited who are owners and operators of Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeria Info FM 99.3 are almost ready to kick off a television station, World Entertainment Television (WE-TV).
A staff of the organization who spoke to NET correspondent in confidence said that the management is still being discreet with most of the information as a few operations are yet to be put in place.

Nigeria, 18 Others Barred From US Visa Lottery

Nigeria and some other countries will no longer be eligible to participate in the America Diversity Visa lottery programme.
Information from the United States Department of State sighted on Sunday said Nigerians and citizens from few other countries were not eligible for DV-2015
The department said Nigeria was excluded since over 50,000 Nigerians had immigrated into the United States in the last five years.

Former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Agagu Is Dead

Former governor of Ondo State Dr. Olusegun Agagu is dead.
The former governor reportedly died at his Ibadan residence in Oyo State around 6 PM Nigerian time some 24 hours after returning from vacation in the US.
Director of Publicity of the  Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Ayo Fadaka confimred Dr. Agagu's death to our source.
He said   the former governor had been in good health checking up on party operatives since returning from vacation yesterday. He said party members were shocked to learn that the former governor and minister slumped and died this afternoon.
Eni Akinsola, a media aide to Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, told our source  that the state government was yet to be officially briefed about the passing of the former governor.
