The Man - Modenine

The name Modenine sounds as a no-go-area for upcoming artistes, when it comes to collaboration or featuring the lyricist as the case might be in their works. The Emcee, who was recently labeled by another rapper as an artiste, who doesn’t have a share of the market in Nigeria considering his style of music, which might have caused the beginning of another world war in the music industry few months back.
His last album titled Paradigm Shift (an important change in which the usual way of thinking or doing something is replaced by another way of thinking or doing something), serves as blueprint for upcoming emcees, dummies guide for wannabe rappers in the industry. Unswerving, is the perfect blend of creativity, dexterity, something he uses astutely when he expresses himself while delivering his sometimes hard to comprehend messages.
Observers have already begun to heap plaudits on him as he had begun to show interest in some of the talented upcoming individuals in the music industry by doing one or two tracks with them.
One of them is quoted saying that, “I was thinking of getting a rap version of one of my songs in my upcoming album and I told him to refer me to someone who can do it for me and he told me blatantly that ‘O Boy, you’re good let me do something for you’ and I couldn’t refused it because it was like having 2pac, Rakim or Na on my album,” he revealed.
Babatunde Olusegun caught most people’s attention with his monster hit single – cry, which won him several awards both home and abroad and another single titled Nigeria girls. The emcee of emcees is now on the verge of making history again.

Timaya Again

The self-styled Egeri Papa I of Bayelsa, Timaya has, undoubtedly, been tipped as one of the best artistes to have come out of the volatile Niger Delta region of Nigeria in recent times. The chubby, dread-locked singer, who has warmed himself and his brand of music into the hearts of many music buffs, especially in the Nigeria wetland - the Niger Delta, where his message of change and non-violence to the restive region is considered as a soothing balm, has consistently been in the news in recent times, but for the wrong reasons. That Timaya has hordes of fans, especially the female folks is not in doubt, but his alleged ravenous appetite for anything in skirt, as media reports have indicated, is a one dent on the image of the musical act. Aside his recently reported love adventure towards nollywood, Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, Timaya, whom the actress was said to have rebuffed, was also sighted in Abuja by our reporter behaving as if he was desperate to satisfy his supposed alleged uncontrollable sexual urge.
The talented act, who was in Abuja for the just concluded hyped music awards, the Hip Hop World Awards, was showed the ghetto stuff in him at the Bolingo Hotels and Towers where invited guests, the awards nominees, journalists and other artistes billed to perform at the awards ceremony were lodged.
Timaya, who arrived at the hotel in company of his back-ups Dem Mama soldiers sighted a certain lady and suddenly became a jelly. Those who should know of the lady’s mission divulged to us that the lady had come to see his boyfriend, who was also lodged at the hotel, when she was accosted by Timaya. Playing the courteous John Bull, Timaya extended his hand to the dashing beauty and the fair-skinned, tall lady reciprocated by taking his hand in hers, but had a raw deal leaving for her mission, as Timaya decided to give her a chase up the elevator to the floor she was going to. While in the elevator, Timaya and his crew engaged tried like little school children to outpace each other in who got the attention of the lady who blatantly refused to give them her number. The pretty chic was not freak about Timaya’s celebrity status and so, blatantly refused to heed to his request for her phone number.
Unsatisfied with the move, Timaya decided to follow her to where she was going to, but turned back when he was the lady’s supposed host emerged from his room.
Timaya, later, called one of his boys on the ground floor to find out who the lady’s boyfriend was from the receptionist.
Minutes later, Timaya and his boys started blaming one another for standing in the other, thereby making the lady decline in giving her number out.
Timaya has since his emergence in the music industry produced two albums, titled Timaya , as well as, The Gift and Grace , which won him the Hip Hop World Awards for the Best Reggae/Dance Hall Album for 2008 and 2009 respectively.
